We will also list closings on this website. Religious Education WILL BE following the Pleasant Valley School schedule only on days of inclement weather. PLEASE NOTE: We do not follow that Pleasant Valley Holiday Schedule, only their inclement weather schedule. Check our calendar for our holidays off.

REGISTRATION- Registration for the 2010-2011 Religious Education year opened on April 1st. If you have not turned in your registration form, please drop it by the office or pop it in the mail. Classes are filling up quickly.
RETIRING CATECHISTS- We have a few catechists retiring this year. Thank you for all your dedication to our program: Joe and Michelle DiLauro, Kathy Maltez, Sandy Nale, Christina Lenway, Maria Cuevas, Kassi Douglas Ceil Valentine and Debbie Trivett. You will be missed!
NEW CATECHISTS- We have a few new catechists this year. If you see them around town or at Mass please take a moment to stop and say hello. Our newest members are: Melissa Zimich, Teresa Lucchese, Terry Scimeca, Pete DePalma, Margaret LaFuira, Holly Snell and Cathy Rizzo. A warm welcome to all!
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Classes begin this year on Saturday September 11, Sunday September 12, Monday September 13 and Tuesday September 14. Enjoy your summer and may God Bless all our Queen of Peace families.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL- Wow! What a great week! Everyone had a smile on the Nile. Thank you to Christina Lenway and all the volunteers that gave their time to make this week a huge success.!
CONFIRMATION AND COMMUNION NEWS 2010-2011:
CONFIRMATION- Mark your calendars. The first Confirmation parent meeting of the new year will be Sunday September 26, Monday September 27 and Tuesday September 28. One parent of each Confirmation student must attend this meeting!
COMMUNION- Our first Penance parent meeting will be Sunday October 17, Monday October 18 and Tuesday October 19! One parent of each First Penance student must attend this meeting.
Please be aware that this year, a full six years in the Religious Education program is now a requirement in order to receive Confirmation. Children must attend first through sixth grade consecutively.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
EACH CHILD IN A PARISH PROGRAM OF RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION MUST RECEIVE A MINIMUM OF 30 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION PER YEAR. NO CHILD CAN HAVE MORE THAN THREE UNEXCUSED ABSENCES PER YEAR. EVERY TIME YOUR CHILD MISSES A CLASS A NOTE EXPLAINING THE REASON FOR THIS ABSENCE MUST BE PRESENTED. AN EXCUSABLE ABSENCE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: SICKNESS, DEATH IN THE FAMILY, OR FAMILY VACATION (PLEASE NOTIFY THE TEACHER IN ADVANCE OF YOUR TRIP). IF YOUR CHILD IN INVOLVED IN AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR ANOTHER DAY OF RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO HELP MEET YOUR CHILD’S NEEDS. A YEARLY SCHEDULE FOR PARISH RELIGION PROGRAMS IS POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE. THIS SCHEDULE LISTS THE UPCOMING EVENTS AND THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION DAYS OFF.
